Students Starting School in 2021

Foundation Information for 2021
As students and parents begin to look ahead to options and pathways for 2021. Ms Thornton (Foundation Teacher), Misss Wallace (Year 7 Homegroup Teacher) and Mrs Hawkins (Transitions Coordinator) are looking towards welcoming new students and families to the College in 2021.
This week Enrolment Packs and Information letters were sent home with Kinder children. Normally we would have held our Foundation Parent Information Night this week and would welcome prospective parents and families to have a look around the College. With current restrictions in place, however this is not possible. Instead parents are encouraged to visit the College website, where a Primary virtual tour is available to view. A virtual version of the Parent Information Night is also available - please contact the Office for more information.
Please share this information with any prospective families with children starting Foundation in 2021at Edenhope College.
Virtual Kinder/Foundation Transition
In lieu of the normal transition visits that the Foundation and Kinder children have during the year, Ms Thornton has been sharing the Foundation English Matrix and some of the activities that the kids are doing each week with the children at Edenhope Kinder. The kinder children have been engaging in the activities and are aware that students at Edenhope College are learning about the same thing.
For the past few weeks we have been focusing on books written by Mark Carthew (who we were lucky enough to have visit just before the first lockdown began back in Term 1. this week students at the College and Kinder watched 'The Gobbling Tree’.
Year 6 into Year 7 Transition
Mrs Hawkins and Miss Wallace will kick off the transition into secondary school for Year 6 students at St Malachy's next Tuesday with a virtual meeting. They will then make contact with Apsley Primary students and families.
Information and Enrolment packs will be made available shortly to those Year 6 students in the wider community who are looking to start at Edenhope College in 2021.
Current Year 6 students at the College will not be required to fill out enrolment forms.
Parents of all students may be interested in attending a Parent Information Session, most likely to be in a virtual format. The date of the Information session and the first of the two transition days will be advised shortly.
