Conversation Starters To Have With Your Children

Starting a conversation with your child about technology can often be fraught with tension, nerves and sometimes confusion and often we as parents are uncertain about what to ask in the first place. Thankfully the eSafety Commissioner has a number of resources for parents on how to navigate the conversations with our children. The partnership between school and home is the most effective way to protect and educate the children in our community about their use of technologies.

Seesaw Family App

For many of you, being able to sit with your child as they learned remotely would have been quite an experience. Getting a glimpse of their learning strategies, coping abilities, strengths and challenges at the kitchen table was a unique opportunity. For our Junior school, remote learning was all about Seesaw, and while I'm sure most parents are keen to have a break from the app for a while, that window into your child's learning, I'm sure, gave you a greater understanding of how your child operates.

As we immerse ourselves back into onsite learning, that window remains open from F-6, through the Seesaw Family app. Many of you would have downloaded the Family app earlier in the year, but over the coming weeks we will provide you with instructions on how to access Seesaw Family, so that you can still see the work that your child produces - and don't worry, you won't have to upload anything yourself, you can just share in the joy of celebrating those little successes we see every day in class.
