Physical Education News

It has been fantastic to see so many people completing their P.E. tasks each week. During this time, it is very important to maintain a regular exercise routine. Exercise releases chemicals in your brain, like serotonin and endorphins, which are great for your mood. Physical activity can also lead to better sleep and give you more energy.

What have the students been doing in P.E.?

Foundation

The Foundation students have been developing their fundamental motor skills, such as throwing and jumping. This week they will be doing a special workout called ‘Dice Roll Reps.’

Years One & Two

The Year One and Two students have been playing a variety of ‘target games’. The main focus of these activities was to throw with accuracy and control. This week, they will also be doing the ‘Dice Roll Reps’ workout. This is a great opportunity to do their P.E. tasks with a sibling.

Years Three & Four

The Year Three and Four students have also been playing some different target games. This week, they have a bingo-style activity, where they have a variety of different workouts from which to choose. One of the options is ‘Dynamic Cleaning’, so get your lists of jobs ready.

Years Five & Six

The Year Five and Six students have been recording or writing instructions about how to carry out a physical skill that they know well. I’ve been watching some great videos about how to do trampoline tricks, shoot netballs and even how to throw a dart.

RHSports Challenge - 2

Last term, RHSports was running an online fitness challenge. This term, they are doing another challenge. All you have to do is go to the challenge page, complete the tasks and fill out the online form. Students who take part will receive a certificate from RHSports.
