Year 9 Art and Photography
During Term 3 Remote Learning, Year 9 students in Art and Photography have been busy working on their Drawing and Printmaking eFolios. The Movement Task has created some outstanding results as students followed the design process through to the completion of a final artwork. Within the unit students explored various mediums and experimented with drawing, printmaking and digital techniques in order to create expressive pieces of art that represent the theme of movement. An artist statement by Natalie D’souza and art works by both Natalie D’souza and Matthew Kadaroesman are featured.
"I created this piece from pencil sketches of a wooden mannequin and patterned prints using household objects and paint. These mediums were then transferred online and modified using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The digital process involved colouring the mannequins with gradients, using the prints to create scenery and placing the mannequins in proportion with the background. From this drawing and printmaking unit, I've learnt about different printmaking techniques, the basic shapes that form a human figure and interesting ways to create art digitally."
