Performing Arts and Mindfulness News

'Mindfulness at St Anthony’s is built into every day. It may take the form of mindful prayer, mindful meditation, mindful listening, mindful colouring, mindful movement or mindful brain breaks. Children learn to self regulate, to calm, to practise gratitude and to get ready to learn through mindful moments within their day. All learning spaces have mindful corners or mindful spaces for all to access when needed.'

An Update from Ms. Victoria

In Performing Arts these last few weeks we have been exploring a variety of dramatic forms, there is no way a pandemic is going to stop the talented kids of St Anthony's being dramatic and creative!

The Juniors have been doing some choreography - coming up with their own dances, they have also been inspired by animals and the composition by Camille Saint Saens' Carnival of the Animals, we have been making masks, dressing up and filming ourselves on Dojo. It's been so lovely to see how into music and dancing our younger students are!

The Seniors have been exploring monologues and have been writing their own monologues about Covid-19, there have been a lot of very impressive works and I can see clearly that our children are really competent with acting and performing.

I have loved being able to offer all our children mindfulness and meditation opportunities alongside their creative development.
