In praise of our Online Learners... 

St Anthony's encourages students to be curious, creative, and critical thinkers through a teaching approach that connects the values of Catholic faith to the thoughts, feelings and actions of our students.

This week there are many more online learners to celebrate and a lot of their great achievements to share with you. Every week it is hard to choose only a few. We are so proud of you all.

 

In praise of Yerosan from 1/2GR. Regardless of his internet playing up, he always does his work and submits it. He works hard in reading groups to make sure he reads fluently and answers all the questions.  He is really clear in all his oral language activities.  In Fractions and last weeks science experiments he showed all the interesting things he can do. Well done Yerosan!

In praise of Sophia from F-PR. She sends through her work each day with such beautiful writing and beautiful pictures. It's been lovely seeing her work on Capacity! Well done Sophia!

In praise of Kylee from F-PR. I love seeing photos and videos of Kylee's learning from home. She has also joined me for the last four weeks in a row doing one on one sessions. She did an amazing job on her writing and reading tasks. Well done Kylee!

In praise of Dian from 1/2WE. Dian has been such an enthusiastic participant in reading groups this week. Well done Dian!

In praise of Laura Win from 3/4BA for creating a fantastic visual information report about jellyfish. The report not only showed the fascinating facts about this ocean creature but also was presented in a very colourful and interesting way. Well done Laura!

In praise of Esther Karthigeyan 3/4BA for being a responsible and 'present' online learner. Esther completes all her work and is proactive in asking questions if she is not sure of a task. It is great to see her respectfully interacting with her peers during our class' google meets. Well done Esther!

In praise of Gunreet Dadwal from F-SC. For applying her mathematical skills to attempt more difficult questions and concepts. For working well in a team on the days she is at school participating in onsite learning. Well done Gunreet!

In praise of Gamta from 5/6ST. Gamta has made an excellent adjustment to Remote Online Learning in Term 3. He enthusiastically participates in all zoom meetings and enjoys having a joke with his friends. I have been very impressed with the effort Gamta makes to submit all work to a high standard. His biography on Le Bron James was very impressive! Well done Gamta!

In praise of Mia Poila from 3/4CH for assisting others with their online work. Well done Mia!

In praise of Alannah Nguyen from 3/4CH for clearly explaining what she has learnt. Well done Alannah!

In praise of Nicole from 5/6DO! I would like to congratulate Nicole for working hard on our Maths unit on fractions. Nicole comes to all of our Zoom sessions and is great at being able to explain her thinking to others so that they can understand the task and concept. I also am very proud that she challenges herself in all our learning tasks - Check out her efforts on this challenge task on equivalent fractions. Well done, Nicole! 

In praise of Grace from 5/6FI! An exceptional effort in collecting and collating research about Mother Teresa, and an outstanding effort in publishing her work. Well done Grace!

In praise of Ashuel from 5/6FI! For persistence in challenging himself in collecting, collating and publishing research on a person in history- George Washington. Well done Ashuel!

In praise of Isaac Sok-Sun in 5/6HA! You have been doing a great job completing all your tasks and participating in lessons. Well done Isaac!

In praise of Florence Tran in 3/4NG- Florence put together an outstanding visual information report about crabs. She successfully achieved the learning intention by adding headings, facts and photos on her poster. Well done, Florence.

In praise of Kevin Dao in 3/4NG - Kevin is always ready for learning. Everyday he is always present in our classroom google meets to check in and ensure he understands a task before completing it. This week, Kevin put together a fantastic visual information report about sharks where he was able to include headings, facts and photos. Well done, Kevin.

In praise of Viren in 1/2AB. He is always working hard and he makes the most fantastic videos of his work to send me.  I want him to teach me how to make them! Well done Viren!

In praise of Christina in 1/2AB. Her work is always so neatly presented and she comes to read with me everyday.  Well done Christina!

In praise of Joshua Piech Meat in 3/4LI for his efforts during online learning over the past few weeks. Josh has been making an effort to attend our class sessions. He also did a great job with his Visual Information report on Clown Fish. Well done Josh.

In praise of Jayden Sreenivas 3/4LI who is consistently attending the online lessons throughout the day and does his best at completing his work. Well done Jayden!

In praise of Raksah in 5/6 PO for her efforts during online LLI Reading Groups. Raksah read with great enthusiasm and expression and shared some wonderful insights and predictions about the texts she is reading. Well done Raksah!

In praise of Jadon in 5/6 PO for his efforts during online learning this week. Jadon has made an effort to attend more of our class meetings on Zoom and has implemented teacher feedback into his tasks to strengthen his knowledge and understanding. Well done Jadon!

In praise of Eddie in 5/6 PO for his hard work, determination and perseverance when researching, drafting and publishing his biography on Abraham Lincoln. Eddie attended writing learning sessions and always asked questions throughout the project to clarify what he had to do.

In praise of Kayla in 5/6 PO for the wonderful effort she puts into each and every task she completes. Kayla regularly attends our learning sessions each day and shows initiative as a learner, always challenging herself in her learning. She hands in work that is on time and well thought out. 

In praise of Krystal Ngo in 3/4LI for her determination and perseverance with her online learning and work. Well done Krystal!

In praise of Emily Vu in 3/4LI for trying her best and completing LLI lessons. Well done Emily!

In praise of Isabella Deng in 3/4LI for regularly joining us for online lessons. Well done Isabella!

In praise of Chantelle Nguyen in 3/4NG. Chantelle made a very informative flipgrid highlighting the issues of human impact on the ocean. She explained the different issues and spoke about possible solutions to help the ocean. Chantelle also created a poster to invite views to stop littering in order to save the sea animals. Well done Chantelle!

In praise of Hyewon Park in 3/4NG. Hyewon made a very engaging flipgrid video on humans' impact on the ocean. She discussed issues of plastic and rubbish and also brainstormed a number of solutions to help the ocean. Well done Hyewon!

In praise of Joseph Luong from 1/2GR.  Joseph has attended his reading groups on time and been very involved in our discussions. He shows expression when he reads characters and is using punctuation to make sure we can all understand what is happening when he reads. Well done Joseph!

In praise of Maria Townsend in 1/2GR. Maria always attends her reading groups and has enjoyed the discussion, making connections with other books we have read and her own experiences. Maria is also working really hard on her multiplication skills as we learn about arrays, and has put in a magnificent effort on her handwriting. Well done Maria!

In praise of Kavia in F-PR. She has been working so hard while at home and at school.I love seeing her work posted online each day and seeing how much she has grown each week during our one on one sessions. Well done Kavia!

In praise of Jayden Pham in 1/2ME for consistently working hard at home to continue his learning journey. I am extremely impressed with his presentation of work - I have seen a great improvement in his handwriting and artistic flair. Well done Jayden!

In praise of Jasmine Sood in 1/2ME - Jasmine has recently moved house but has returned to online learning well. Sharing her learning and participating in assessment doing her best. Well done Jasmine!

In praise of Kingsley Sam in 1/2WE for being so enthusiastic during one on one teacher sessions. Well done Kingsley!

In praise of Shraysth in 1/2WE for using his listening skills and concentrating very hard during testing this week. Well done Shraysth!

In praise of John who is always busy learning and posting his work.  He spends a lot of time making and sending very interesting videos of his learning. Well done John!

Felicia who is always at the morning meets and then busy working all day doing her work and sending it to her teachers.  

In praise of Akon in 5/6ST. She has made an impressive effort in attending all roll calls and completing all her work. Her efforts in attending all roll calls on Zoom has been greatly appreciated. The funniest lesson we had was when we were trying to make a ‘Water Whistle’ for Science Week. Akon also wrote a detailed biography about Melanie Martinez and included some interesting facts. Well done Akon! 

In praise of Brandon in 5/6ST. Brandon is very helpful when working online. He completes all tasks required of him and always has some interesting information to contribute when the class is having online discussions. Brandon enjoyed completing his biography and completing the Flipgrid task of recording his biography for his peers to listen to. Well done Brandon!

In praise of Het Patel and Jason Sok in 5/6DO. Both of these students worked incredibly hard to compose their biographies on Leonardo Da Vinci (Jason) and Stephen Hawking (Het). Both students were regular attendees in our learning sessions and took on feedback well to enhance their writing. They also researched and planned their biography effectively so that they could put together interesting sentences and very cohesive pieces of work. Check out some snippets of their amazing work!! So proud! Well done Het and Jason!

In praise of Kristoffer in 5/6ST. Kristoffer is definitely more confident navigating Remote Online Learning this term.  He wrote an excellent biography on Neil Armstrong and provided some interesting information and facts. Kristoffer enjoys chatting with his friends on Zoom and is always polite to his teacher and his peers. Well done Kristoffer!

In praise of Erica in 1/2KO. During term 3, Erica’s commitment to her online Learning has been fantastic, she shows great enthusiasm and always asks meaningful questions that help expand her understanding and curiosity. Well done Erica, keep up the fantastic work! 

In praise of Solid in 1/2KO. During remote learning, Solid is continuing to show improvements to his learning, he has shown great commitment to individual learning sessions. During our one-to-one learning sessions this week, Solid's enthusiasm and excitement was fantastic, keep working hard! Well done Solid! 

In praise of Keyeron in 1/2KO. Keyeron has shown great work ethic during term 3, she is consistently joining morning meets, attending her reading sessions, as well as posting most of her lessons to Class Dojo. Keyeron should feel proud of the commitment she has shown, keep up the fantastic work! Well done Keyeron!

In praise of Liana Nguyen in 5/6FI for her consistently excellent work in Mathematics, particularly her work in converting complex improper fractions and mixed numbers. Well done Liana!

In praise of Orlando Mihalec in 5/6FI for his outstanding work in the biography writing of Donald Trump, and his excellent oral presentation of the President of the United States. Well done Orlando!
