TECHNOLOGY 2020

Welcome back to 2020! This year is going to be a jam packed! 

Our Grade Preps have settled in nicely and have been learning about what a device is. They will begin to explore a range of devices, including using a chromebook. 

Grade 1s and 2s are also learning about devices. They have been focusing on the history of different devices and how they've changed over time. 

Our Grade 3s and 4s are looking at peripheral devices - these are the input and output devices that assist a machine, such as a computer, to work. They have been investigating different devices and looking at the hardware inside them. We have been focusing on the motherboard, ROM, RAM and CPU and how they all work together.

The Grade 5s and 6s have been exploring internal components and external functions of different devices. We will be using the Lego EV3 robots in the coming weeks to collect data and determine how information is sent and received from the robot!

Our 3-6s are also undertaking Food Technology this semester and some have already been lucky enough to have been preparing food and cooking. They are learning concepts such as, healthy eating, looking at the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and how food gets from the farm to the plate. 

Our Prep-2s will have their chance in Semester 2!
