HIRAGANA KARATE BELTS
A major focus for students in years 3-6 is learning to read and order Hiragana alphabet characters and understand how they can be used to represent words. We use the Hiragana Belt System, where students get 10 minutes of practice time each lesson. During this time they use a wide variety of choice activities to focus on characters from the rows they are learning and progress through the levels at their own pace. It’s great to see student levels of enthusiasm and the wonderful progress being made.

KAZOKU – FAMILY
Our studies this term into family member names and counting people has finished with students creating some great work for their assessment pieces!
Students in P-2 have been creating their own page for a “Dare desu ka - Who Is It?” class book which, when complete, will be given to their classroom to become a take home book from next term. They are all very proud of their pages and look forward to sharing those with you.
Students in 3- 6 have been using VOKI (https://www.voki.com/) to create an online talking avatar that describes something about their family. They have created some very interesting characters and done a great job with this task.
