The Energy Breakthrough

“The Energy Breakthrough”
We are writing to tell you about our new exciting program. “The Energy Breakthrough”.
Since 1991, the Energy Breakthrough has provided opportunities for students, teachers, parents and local industry to work together to design and construct a vehicle, a machine or innovation in technology that will represent an ‘energy breakthrough’.
The Energy Breakthrough isn’t just a once-a-year event. School groups work throughout the year to design and test human powered vehicles, otherwise known as trikes. Buninyong Primary School is entering two teams for the first time ever and we are very excited to provide this opportunity to our students.
We anticipate the entire program to cost approximately $10,000, with funds coming from the following areas:
Sponsorship
Participant contribution
Fundraising events (Pie drive, BBQ’s, Canteen Days etc)
Students will be required to contribute towards the costs of food, transport and team clothing. We are seeking sponsorship to help with the associated costs. Your sponsorship will go towards the following:
Purchase of two EBT trikes
Team entries
Cycling equipment
Team gazebos
Why Sponsor Us?
In addition to being part of this great event and providing students with a fantastic opportunity, we will be acknowledging our sponsors in many different ways.
Newsletters
During the lead up to the event we will be providing regular updates on our progress through our school newsletter as well as Class Dojo and Compass updates. Sponsors will be listed regularly in our school newsletter, which goes out to over 400 local families.
Trikes
Our two trikes will be the focus of our event and they will be seen by a large number of people with over 30,000 people expected at the event. Our Gold and Silver sponsors will be displayed on our trikes.
Team Shirts
Our gold sponsors will have their business name or logo displayed on our team shirts which will be worn by all our participants across the weekend.
Sponsorship Board
Our sponsorship board will be prominently displayed throughout the event and lead up practice sessions.
Local Newspapers
We will be approaching local newspapers in the lead up to the event. We are hoping to promote our program and inform our community about the progress our students have made. We would anticipate that these articles include pictures of our trikes and students in team tops.
