Woorabinda Camp!

Woorabinda Camp!
During the week of the 3rd of June to the 7th of June we had a group of our Grade 4 and 5 students attend Woorabinda camp down in Yallourn North just outside of Moe.
Leaving very early on the Monday morning, 100 campers from all different schools, made their way down to camp to begin a week full of fun, challenges and learning. Throughout the week kids participated in a number of adventure activities all whilst learning valuable life skills.
Woorabinda values it’s environment and during the week the kids learn lots about how to look after our wonderful world. Our challenge for the week was to throw out as little as possible into the landfill bins, and we rose to the challenge.
Here are some photos of camp and memories from some of our Buninyong students.

My highlight at Woorabinda camp was the high ropes course. I had so much fun even though it was SUPER scary! The course included a zipline, a beam, wire, springy board, a net, a wobbly bridge, floating boys and MORE!

When we got to Woorabinda we had to walk in the freezing weather and rain to the old cookout. We had to make our own lunch!
I made friends with my cabin-mates, Ella, Delilah, Taylor, Emily and Amity. We talked and laughed all night.
The high ropes course was fun and a few people wanted to get down. I understand why it was SO HIGH up there! We also went canoeing and I nearly fell off the canoe! It was so fun and challenging! We had a night hike and when we got back we ate smores!!

The things I enjoyed most at Woorabinda were the high ropes and zip lining. On the zip lining we got our harnesses on, it was so tight! The zip line was 127 meters long! When it was my turn I jumped off the edge, it was so scary at first but then I wanted to do it again.

Woorabinda was the BEST! My favourite activity was the high ropes. On my first go I was terrified but the next two goes I loved it I got higher and higher in the air. My friends cheered me on and I cheered them on. Woorabinda was the best!

Last week I attended Woorabinda. Some of the activities I participated in included zip lining, canoeing, high ropes and a night walk. They were all heaps of fun. The zip line was 127metres long. There was the opportunity to do dead man’s drop on the zip line and this is where you closed your eyes and dropped down without looking! That was really fun! I came home having made lots of new friends from different schools and a lot of memorable moments that will stay with me forever.

I loved camp Woorabinda, it was an awesome experience. My favourite activity was the zip lining, we each got eight turns, it was awesome. My second favourite was the high ropes courses, they were so much fun. It was scary at the start but then I got used to it. I highly suggest the grade fours and fives to apply for camp Woorabinda next year, you’ll have the time of your life! Thank you everyone a and have a great rest of your day!
