Rotary Public Speaking

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Rotary Public Speaking competition.   After a competitive school-based process involving students from year 5 and 6,  Peter and Heidi represented the school.  Students worked with Mr Teague Rook to prepare for and write speeches on a range of topics. 

Both Peter and Heidi presented their speeches in front of a large audience of Rotarian's, students, teachers and parents from neighbouring schools.   Peter and Heidi did the Springs proud, speaking with such confidence.

2020 Planning

Plans are well underway for the 2020 school year. This week, teacher interviews have been completed. The leadership team have been impressed with the high quality applicants we have received and are confident that we have employed a well-balanced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staffing profile for 2020.

Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser

Thank you to our parent and staff helpers who worked on the Bunnings BBQ.   We managed to raise $1369.51.   At Pakenham Springs, we are lucky to have a small but dedicated group of volunteers to assist us in our fundraising endeavours.   If you would like to help out with our fundraising and community activities, please join our school Facebook page or look out for opportunities notified through Compass. 

Spring into Step - Run Club

On Tuesday we saw 85 students, some staff and parents join our PE teachers for our first Run Club. Mr Davie and Mr Holmes are keen to add this extra-curricular activity as an additional way to encourage physical activity and engage all members of the school community.  Please get behind it and come along at 8:20am next Wednesday morning (after Cup day, normally Tuesday mornings).  

Uniform

Beleza Uniforms are doing some store renovations in December which means the store will be shut for December.  They are offering 20% off all uniform from Monday 11th November through to Saturday 16th November.  The store will reopen at the start of January 2020 for any uniform needs that may arise.  I thought you might like to get in early and take advantage of the sale in November.

Hats

Term 4 is a hat term and most students have done well to remember them.  If your child is needing a new one they are available through Beleza. Please note that caps and hoods are not considered to be 'Sun Smart' alternatives under our Sun Protection Policy and are therefore not appropriate for outdoor activities at Pakenham Springs.
