BASE 1270

Celebrating Our 1st Birthday

It dawned on us last week that Base 1270 has been operating for 12 months.  How time flies when you are having fun.

We’re really proud of what we have achieved in this time and an ongoing cycle of observation, planning, implementation and reflection has led to constant improvement.  At a Base 1270 staff meeting last week, we reflected on our strengths and weaknesses came up with a number of actions.

A couple of those actions that you will notice in the near future include:

  • Suggestions Box – We’re in the process of having our students decorate a lovely box that will sit in the foyer of the gym and give students and parents/carers the opportunity to contribute thoughts and ideas to help shape what happens at Base 1270.
  • Parent/Carer Survey – Given we have now been operating for 12 months, it’s time to formally survey all of our parents and carers to get some feedback.  That survey will be made available to parents and carers through Survey Monkey.  Results from the survey will further help us build a sense of our strengths and weaknesses, which will influence future planning.
  • Introducing Class Dojo – To help all of our parents and carers stay in touch with the educational program at Base 1270, all will be invited to sign up to a Base 1270 Class Dojo.  This will be used by Base 1270 staff to share snap shots of what’s happening day to day.  Expect an invite soon.

Hats

As we are in term 4 and the weather is starting to get warmer, you must bring a hat with you if you would like to play outside. If you have a spare hat and you would like to keep it at Base 1270, please put your name on it and hand it to Liam.

We look forward to seeing you all this week.

Base 1270 team.
