PE Lessons

It was straight back into the routines and learning activities for PE since returning to school. Within all our lessons we have revisited the work during the online period and recapped our learnings during this time.

For the final 2 weeks of this term we are trying to stay outside as much as possible and limit the amount of equipment we use and the hand to hand contact when using the equipment. Therefore we are focusing on Soccer for the whole school. The Prep/1’s will continue learning the Fundamental Movement Skills which will include: kick, leap, dodge. For Grades 2-4 we will discuss and practice the basic skills for soccer and play in modified games. In Grades 4-6 we will look at how the strategies and tactics used in soccer can apply to all Invasion games as well as experiencing ways to officiate within a game.

FIT CLUB

Fit Club is back this week before school on Thursdays from 7:45am.

Dr Cranky’s Bike Hospital

Dr Cranky’s has not been able to operate at the school for the last few months due to the Covid 19 restrictions. The parent volunteers miss working at the Bicycle Hospital helping the school community recycle and repair bikes. We’ll be back as soon as we can. Hopefully in Term 3. It’s been so good to see so many families out and riding though. Many of them on bikes from the Bicycle Hospital!

Many of you might be wanting to work on your own bikes so we’ve prepared a series of YouTube videos that cover the basics.

So if your gears aren’t working or you’ve got a flat tyre and you want to fix it yourself go to Dr Cranky’s YouTube channel to find out.

Go to YouTube and search for Dr Cranky’s Bikes for Kids for all the videos.  Happy riding and see you soon.
