Religion & Wellbeing News

Dear Families,
We will have a parent information evening later in the term. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Parent Information Evening - Communicating with your child post COVID
Thursday 31st August: 7pm - 8.15pm
The evening will be facilitated by our school counsellor Melanie D'Vaz and will cover the topic of communication with our children especially with the challenges of a post COVID environment. Some areas that will be discussed are:
* communication
* screen time
* friendship
* setting boundaries
* anxiety
We hope to make the evening as informative and interactive as possible.
Babysitting will also be provided on the night to make it easier to attend!
More information will follow in the coming weeks. Please get in touch if you have any other topics you are interested in Melanie discussing.
Wellbeing and Social Skills
Did you know each class has a weekly wellbeing lesson?
This term, I will support teachers in the Year 1-4 classes to deliver weekly social skills and wellbeing programs.
The Year 1/2 and 2/3 classes discussed today what expected behaviour and unexpected behaviours are and the hidden rules of social interaction. We discuss these things by becoming a 'social detective' to look for clues to how we behave in different situations.
The Year 3/4 class will be using the Social Stencil program which focuses on
understanding the complexity of emotions, peer relationships, friendship and conflict. These concepts are unpacked through discussions, group challenges and arts inspired games to create genuine opportunities to experience, learn and practice the skills being discussed.
First Eucharist
Congratulations to the students who received the Sacrament of Eucharist on Sunday 23rd of July. Thank you to Denise who prepared the students so well. It was such a special celebration for the students and families.
Take Care,
