Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart School Community,
Prayer
Loving God, You are the giver of all we possess, the source of all of our blessings.
We thank and praise you.
Thank you for the gift of our children.
Help us to set boundaries for them, and yet encourage them to explore.
Give us the strength and courage to treat each day as a fresh start.
May our children come to know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
May your Holy Spirit help them to grow in faith, hope, and love, so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.
Amen.
Sunday's Sacrament of First Eucharist
Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time last Sunday. In a respectful, spirit filled celebration, these students with the support of their family and friends took the next very important step in their faith journey. A big thank you to Father Eloysius for his continued gentle guidance and wisdom and to Denise, James and Kate who worked diligently preparing our students.
NAPLAN 2023 Results
Parents and guardians of our students in Year Three and Year Five received their child's NAPLAN results today. As you look at the NAPLAN document, it is important to remember to put these results into the context, that they are generated from individual tests conducted over a three day period. It is a reality, that they form a snapshot of your child’s level of achievement at that time and place. However, your child’s classroom teacher has a more encompassing and accurate understanding of their progress, resulting from the constant evaluation, assessment and reflection, that takes place on an ongoing basis in the classroom.
Due to constraints with staff meeting together to analyse data, we have not had the opportunity to evaluate our student’s results in detail and look for important trends. This will certainly be undertaken in the coming weeks.
Acting Principal for the Day (From our Acting Principal Roman)
Why You Should Bring Your Child To Our School, Sacred Heart
The reason why you should bring your child to Sacred Heart Primary School is that the children here are nice, friendly and are kind-hearted students. The teachers at Sacred Heart are funny, generous and caring. They might give us hard work but it’s worth it when they give us a reward for trying our best and listening to them. The last thing that I want to say about this school is, everyone here is welcome and the school is supportive of our community. There are so many more wonderful things at Sacred Heart Primary School, more than you could imagine.

Acting Principal initiates Competition Entry
Roman in his Acting Principal role along with students Gail Martina and Isabella,
have entered a competition conducted by radio station KIIS 101.1 to have two of their on-air personalities "Jase and Lauren" visit our school. Roman, Isabella and Gail Martina have written a piece about our school as part of their entry.
Hello Jase and Lauren, We would love for you guys to come to our school. Let us tell you four reasons why you should come to our school
Reason number one
Our school had an old playground and now it's gone! Now we have a new playground and ever since we got a new one none of the teachers have gone down the slide yet and we want you to be the first adults to go on it.
Reason number two
Most of our students listen to your radio show and we want to listen, play and talk with you guys in person.
Reason number three
Come to experience our everyday life!!! Meet some of our S.R.T. leaders and teachers. Jase can play soccer with the grade 5/6 students
Final Reason
We think we have a magnificent school with lots of friendly students and welcoming teachers. We want you to have a great experience of getting to know them.
Thanks for reading

Our New Outdoor Learning Space
Last Tuesday saw our Year One/Two and Year Three/Four classes gather on our new outdoor learning space for a lesson with Denise and Marie whilst soaking up some much enjoyed warmth from the sun.
Enrolments 2024
We still have three positions for our 2024 Foundation class and limited positions in other classes. If you know of any one who is looking for a school for their child to commence their education in 2024, or is in need of finding another school for their child to continue their primary education, let them know about Sacred Heart.
NINO Visit
It was great to have our friends from NINO Early Learning Adventures visit our Year Three/Four class today. We have a lovely ongoing relationship with the staff and children from NINO and always look forward to getting together.
Popcorn Fridays!!!
A reminder that this term we are selling popcorn on a Friday (stock being available) as a small treat and fundraiser. Packets of popcorn sell for $1.00.
