Welcome back everyone, we hope you had some time off and are refreshed and ready for Term 3.

For many of the Year 12s, it will be the final push to get everything finished off and completed so they can finish up at the end of the term. It is important that those students break down what needs to get done into daily or weekly objectives and not get too overwhelmed by it all.

Illnesses

The last term finished off with a lot of unwell students.  We would just like to encourage everyone to continue to use good hygiene practises, especially around hand washing, coughing and sneezing into tissues, as these things all help to keep everyone well and at school.

Southwest Coach

This term, we have changed our pickup point on Sunday evenings for the Southwest Coach. Instead of being dropped off in Bunbury, we will now collect the students from the BP service station which is on the corner of Paris and the Old Coast Road in Australind at around 6.35pm. If you use this service please ensure you book the return to the BP service station in Australind.

Congratulations

Over the holiday period, Brenton Rice and his wife Greta welcomed a little boy into their family.  They are all doing well, and he has an adoring older sister and brother to look after him. Congratulations and all the very best.

Staffing

On the last day of term we said farewell to one of our supervisors, John White.  I'm sure John will be missed by students and staff in residence.  We wish John all the best.

With staff leaving we have employed some new staff to look after our students in boarding. We would like to welcome onboard Kryssie Strand and Nicole Strehle and welcome back Mr Rob Hodgson, who has previously worked with us. Please make them welcome when you see them, introduce yourself and let them know who your child is, as it is always great to put a face to a name.

Vandalism

Unfortunately, we have had some further damage done to some of our buses.  Currently we have four seat belts that are inoperable on the coach and one in the new Yutong bus.  Some of them may not be direct vandalism, but more neglect in the pressure that is applied to the seat belts when they are removed.

Considering the recent tragic events in NSW, can we please ask that students take care when seat belts are released and gradually let them roll back into the housing, as this appears to be one of the causes of damage.  We also suspect students are deliberately twisting their seatbelts and ask them not to do so. At the end of the day, it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the seatbelts function correctly.

With the current weather conditions, it is a timely reminder to stay warm and dry. Please ensure your child has the appropriate wet weather gear for the Farm for the next few months.

School Nurse

Louise McDonald, our School Nurse will be onsite on Mondays from 12—4 pm. If you students would like to see the nurse, please come to the office to make a booking.
