Around The Primary

Dear Families
Last week the Years 3- 6 students participated in our Interhouse Cross-Country Carnival. The effort shown by all the runners was impressive and it was great to see the team comradery in action. Congratulations to Koolyangarra for their overall win. Thank you to the families who came along to support our students and to all the parent volunteers who assisted on the day.
Today we hosted the IPSHA Cross-Country Carnival and we welcomed 11 other schools to this special event. Congratulations to the students who qualified to represent the College at this sporting event.
Special thanks to Mr Williams for his organising of these carnivals and training our squad.
Good luck to our runners who will also be participating in the School Sport WA (SSWA) Cross Country Carnival next Thursday. This is an opportunity for our students to participate in an extra competition over the distances of 2000m and 2500m.
The celebration of John XXIII Day is scheduled for next Friday 4 August. It is one of the special occasions during the year when the entire student body are involved in community celebrations.
The day will begin with a College Mass at 9:00am in the St Louis Sports Centre. The day will then continue with a ‘mini-fete’ organized by our Year 5 and 6 students. This mini-fete will consist of various games and food novelties. On this special occasion our normal nutrition guidelines are relaxed but parents may like to provide guidelines for their children.
All the money raised from the stalls will be donated to Jesuit Mission and Mary Ward International.
All students are required to wear their sports uniform and House shirt for the day. They need to bring a snack for morning tea and a packed lunch. No canteen orders will be available.
Let’s pray for fine weather on the day and that a magnificent celebratory spirit will be present on John XXIII Day.
Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
