 Doctors in Secondary Schools 

 

Dr Eman Abdella and Nurse Rhose Montoro from Kings Park Medical Centre offerFREE appointments to students at Copperfield College as part of the Doctors in Secondary Schools (DiSS) program.

 

The Doctor and Nurse are available to support students that are concerned or want help, information, or advice about health issues such as:

  • Sleep
  • Body image
  • Healthy eating and exercise
  • Sexual health including contraception, STIs, pregnancy testing
  • Gender and sexuality/LGBTIQ+ issues
  • Drug or alcohol use
  • Feeling scared, worried, upset, or down
  • Attention, concentration

Telehealth appointments can be booked every Friday or during the week subject to Doctor availability irrespective of home campus. 

 How to book

An appointment can be made: 

  1. In advance via the Wellbeing team, Front Office or by completing this booking request form. 
  2. On the day, by dropping in to the office during Break 1. 

Note- New patients are requested to have filled out a New Patient Information Form which will be sent to them via email or SMS when they book an appointment. 

 

 

Confidentiality

Under Victorian law, students who are mature minors can consent to their own medical treatment and see the GP alone for confidential consultation and treatment

Where students are not evaluated as mature minors, the GP seeks consent from the parent or carer prior to any treatment from the GP.
