Community Group

Thank you to the incredible St. Luke's Community Group for their generosity and support to set up supplies for our kitchen. The 1/2's were lucky enough to trial some of the equipment this week to test out their procedural writing. We look forward to cooking up more recipes soon!

Community Group Meeting:

The first community group meeting for the term will be on the 8th of August at 7 pm in the staffroom. EVERYONE is welcome. (Please note change of date.) If you’re someone who enjoys organising social events, we’d love to hear from you.

Pie Drive:

Pie drive forms have been sent home with the eldest child this week. If by early next week you haven’t received a pie drive form please contact myself (Sheena: 0413-902-752, or the office for a form). The pie drive will help support one of our school family’s bakery- Baking Dough and also raise funds for our school.

Thank You:

You may not know what or where fundraising goes towards. Fundraising efforts have helped fund (or part fund) playgrounds, shade sails, sport equipment and sausage sizzles. In the last few months some funds have been put towards new kitchenware to start cooking classes, and bar runners for the kitchen. If you have suggestions on what your family would like to see funds go towards, we’re always looking for ideas.

Trivia Night:

Netball News:

U11

Round 9

We asked the girls at training what’s a part of their game they need to work on and that’s what they had to focus on correcting during the game. It was a very fast paced game in the end the other team capitalised on our turnovers. Great game by Louise and Ella today. Mooroopna 17 to St Luke’s 6.

Round 10

Tough matchup against a strong opponent. Dee as always was very encouraging but the basics cause a lot of turnovers in our game. If we can keep them to a minimal we can compete with our oppositions. Maddi had a great start with her shots, followed by Zoe Liddell and Addi.  Lou and Ella read the play in defence and Chloe used her athletic skills against her tall opponent. Great job girls.

Awards: Gemma Daunt and Zoe Liddell.

U9

A great win this week against Grahamvale Crystals. All players gave 100% effort in defending throughout the game, which made it very hard for our opposition to score.

Lots of great passages of team play with strong passing resulting in goals.

Awards this week to Audre and Natasha

Final Score 8-2

U9 - Round 10. This week we had a tough game against Kialla West Pink. Both teams played exceptionally well and it was hard fought to the end. The improvement of every player and overall as a team is really showing through week on week. Awards this week to Gretta and Alice.

Meals:

If you are in need of a meal due to illness, a new baby or your family is just having a tough time, please reach out. Similarly if you have a meal we could pop in the freezer for a family, simply date and label with ingredients and drop at the office.
