Student and Staff Wellbeing

Wellbeing Groups

In addition to the Personal and Social Capabilities curiculum that is delivered to all students, the Wellbeing Team have been providing further targeted Social- Emotional (SE) learning sessions to students who have been identified by the Wellbeing Team as requiring additional learning opportunities in the Learning Area. The programs support specific areas of social-emotional learning including; resilience, emotional regulation, general wellbeing, and emotional literacy.

Students have been undertaking a range of activities including:

  • Identifying events and experiences that make them feel particular emotions;
  • Learning about how their emotions fit into the Zones of Regulation
  • Identifying strategies to help self-regulation and move back in the 'green' zone when faced with challenges.
  • Understanding personal strengths and identifying what strengths ech person has.
  • Identifying a support network of safe adults at school, at home and within the community
  • Mindfulness

Self Care

What is it and why is it important?

Self-care may be defined by the term itself - caring for yourself. Self-care includes anything you do to keep yourself healthy: physically, mentally and spiritually. Although prioritizing self-care may sound like common sense, it’s often the first thing to go. This is why it is important to keep it top of mind and not an after-thought, especially when we find ourselves in challenging times. Self-care looks different for everyone, so find what works well for you.

Below are some different types of self care and ideas you might like to try.

Another simple way to improve your wellbeing could be to start a gratitude journal.

Each day, find one thing big or small that you are grateful for.
