The Next Fortnight of Learning

Literacy

  • Comparing and evaluating texts presenting the same ideas and analysing why one is more comprehensive.
  • Our Book Club roles.
  • Finishing our persuasive introductions.
  • Beginning to write the body paragraphs for our persuasive essays. We will be using TEEL to help us structure our paragraphs.

Maths

It's money time! We will be using our addition and subtraction strategies to solve money problems.

Inquiry

During our Science Fair we will be focusing on and experimenting with different types of forces. There will be mini stations set up for students to trail the effects of different forces while collecting observational data.

Wellbeing

We will be exploring 'Zone Idioms' and matching them to our zone colours e.g. fish out of water falls into the yellow zone. Next is looking at our zones across the day and how we move in and out of different zones throughout the day.

Reminders

  • Camp forms are due- please send them with your child to give to their classroom teacher.
  • Students are to read for 20 minutes a day
  • Daily times table practise
  • Water is the only liquid to be brought to school.
  • Please pop your child's name on their jumper.

Celebration of our Learning

Students were excited to present their island. This island was created throughout the learning during our Inquiry topic 'Our Island Home'. We were very proud of the professionalism the students displayed while presenting and watching.
