Student News

Learn what opportunities our students have been taking on

What's been going on at St B's!

Year 12 English students are off and running in their effort to get themselves organised for their end of year examination! Students participated in an exam preparation webinar session with Ben Taylor from The English Lab and it was a great way to kick start this exciting (and nervous) time for our students. PS. 80 days to go!

Year 8 Science students have been exploring the types of energy and the law of conservation. Pracs run by Ms McCann allowed students to see the energy transformation from chemical to sound and heat.

Last week, Ms. Giampaolo's Year 8 Humanities class learnt about entrepreneurs throughout history and today. Thank you to Australian Catholic University pre-service teacher, Ms. Davis, who is completing placement with us at the moment for running the activity!

Ms. Chaplin's Year 8/9 Foods class prepared a batch of delicious berry scones each. Nice work!

Nanotechnology Junior Stretch Challenge

Last week, eight Year 7/8 boys jumped on the bus and headed to Melbourne to attend the Nanotechnology Junior Stretch Challenge at Camberwell Grammar School.

The students attended a variety of workshops and lectures, exploring challenging subjects from Nanotechnolgy. The event is an opportunity for students to challenge themselves, share ideas with other students and problem solve.

Yr 11 Presentation Ball

Congratulations to the students who participated in Friday night's Presentation Ball. It was a magical evening shared with friends and family of our St Brigid's College community. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making the night such a success.

Thank you to the parent committee for your dedication and creativity in putting together the stage design and accompanying decorations. It looked fabulous!

Year 10 Drivers Ed.

This week, our Year 10 students participated in a drivers education program at the Charlton Driver Education Centre which prepares beginner drivers for a lifetime of safe driving. It is a great opportunity for the students to get in a car and do some driving with qualified instructors.

Thank you to the staff who accompanied them to Charlton for this valuable experience.
