The extra curricular opportunities are endless at St Brigid's!

STUDY SLAM

Study Slam is a teacher supported program where you can seek help with outstanding school work and/or personal study. It helps strengthen your revision skills and can provide a safe, focused environment for study.

Study Slam is open to any student, across all year levels and takes place in the Senior Study Centre. It runs from 3:30pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday every week.

 

Volunteer for an epic mine rescue competition

 

The Victorian Mine Rescue Competition (VMRC) is a large-scale annual mine rescue and emergency response training exercise involving mine rescue teams from across Victoria, NSW, and New Zealand, along with emergency services including Victoria Police, the CFA and Ambulance Victoria.

 

The 2023 in Stawell in between Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October. 

MCA Victoria seeks interest from individuals to volunteer to support the event. It is a great opportunity to take part in a highly regarded national emergency training event.

 

Roles include casualties acting injured to be treated by mine rescue teams, and other support for the delivery of various scenarios team compete in including fire, search & rescue, rope rescue and road crash rescue.

Roles can be across the weekend covering most of Saturday and Sunday, or solely for a the multi emergency services agency scenario ‘Spence Herd Challenge’ on Sunday 22 October.

Volunteers will work with paramedics, WorkSafe Victoria, Victoria Police, CFA, and mine safety training experts. The competition is a fun weekend with people passionate about safety training.

Volunteering would suit students interested in a career in emergency services, acting or mining.
