SCHOOL CLOSURE MONDAY 2nd NOVEMBER

Dear Families,

St Laurence's has a whole school approach to positive behaviour.  Primarily, members of our school community all have a significant role to play in supporting and promoting positive behaviour.  These members include parents/carers, students and school staff.  When all members of our community work together, every child has the opportunity to fully participate, engage in the process of schooling and become a successful learner.

Here are some open-ended conversation starters (but not limited to) that promote positive relationships.  These may take place while eating dinner, while playing a game, while going for a walk, driving in the care, shooting hoops etc.

  • What was the best thing or most interesting thing about today?
  • What was the hardest thing you had to do today?  How did you make it easier?
  • Did any of your classmates do anything funny?
  • Tell me about you read in class.
  • Who did you play with today?  What makes them a good person to play with? What did you play?
  • What rules are different at school that our rules at home? Do you think they're fair?
  • Can you show me something you learned (or did) today?
