Units 3 and 4 VCE Exams

The VCE written exams started with our Year 12 English students sitting the English exam on Tuesday 10 November. For some students, their exams had started a couple of weeks prior with the VCE language oral exams and the VET Music Performance exam. As the college is a VCAA exam centre, we will be conducting exams at the college in 100 Block up until Tuesday 1 December. We wish our Year 12 students and the Year 11 students studying a Units 3 and 4 subject all the very best for their remaining exams.

Year 11 Exams

The Year 11 students and Year 10 students studying a VCE Units 1 and 2 subject completed Semester 2 exams in the first two weeks of November. The exams were prepared by teachers to resemble the format and rigour of VCAA Units 3 and 4 exams to provide our students with invaluable experience to help prepare for the demands of their exams in 2021. The Senior School is extremely proud of our students for their efforts during the exam period.

Head Start Program

The Head Start Program started on Monday 16 November for our 2020 Year 10 and Year 11 students who will be studying Year 11 and 12 respectively in 2021. This program enables our students to start their 2021 VCE or VCAL studies to make early progress and ensures that students are aware of their subjects’ demands and expectations. Teachers have done a tremendous job developing best practice head start programs for their 2021 classes. Teachers will also be setting a reasonable amount of holiday homework to further ensure all students are well placed at the start of the 2021 school year, whilst also ensuring students can have a refreshing break after such a challenging year.

Head Start will finish for 2020 Year 11 students on Thursday 26 November as Report Writing Day will be conducted on Friday 27 November.

The Year 10 students will return to school the week after (Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December) to attend lessons where students will complete work set by their teachers.

Planning for 2021

The Senior School has consulted the 2021 Year 12 students about their choice of design for their Year 12 jackets. Planning is underway to ensure the students receive their jackets early in 2021.

Due to the pandemic and the uncertainties surrounding inter-state travel, planning for the bi-annual Central Australia Camp has been delayed. The college is planning to run the camp for 2021 Year 10 and 11 students during the final two days of Term 3 2021 and into the first week of the term break. Details and expressions of interest will be distributed as soon as they are available.

Students and parents / carers of VCE and VCAL will receive a handbook at the start of the 2021 school year providing important information to ensure the senior school community are aware of VCAA rules and student responsibilities.
