Year 9 Innovation Nation Project
Year 9 students were involved in an enterprise learning program that allowed them to generate new ideas and approaches to solving community challenges, whilst building their skills and ability to navigate the future.
Students participated in a learning experience that extended beyond the classroom. This increased their confidence, network, skills and access to resources to develop social change ideas in their community.
The groups planned and developed social change ideas and applied for national funding. The two groups were selected and received $1,000 of start-up funding to develop their ideas for social change. Student groups also received coaching from Citi Australia business experts and commenced work on their final pitch.
The two groups were Proud Crowd & Clothely.
Proud Crowd’s idea was intended to help eliminate LGBT+ discrimination and equality, whilst Clothely wanted to provide a service that will enable customers, specifically female, to rent high end clothes for a much cheaper price than it would be to simply just purchase the product.
Students attend a virtual celebration event, where they pitched for additional funding. Both groups presented informative presentations and answered questions from a panel of judges.
Proud Crowd was given an additional $1250 to continue to work on their social change idea.
Congratulations to all students involved in the project. An amazing effort!
