HOLIDAY LOANS

It’s good to see a lot of students coming to borrow for the holidays. Students are allowed to borrow 5 - 10 books for the holidays.  As well as fiction, this includes study aid books for VCE and other students. The wheelers e-book lending facility will continue to operate from the library home page over the holidays.

MY WORD IT DOES MATTER!

What matters? Reading! I continue to read articles that stress the fundamental importance of reading in educational outcomes. Parent/Guardian, do you know what your child is reading?  If not, please start a conversation with them about this important topic. 

CHOICE MAGAZINE ON LINE

Students can access Choice magazine’s digital site from the library homepage.  The site offers a wealth of consumer information and makes for good browsing.

E-BOOKS VERSUS BOOKS

Scott Pape is the author of “The barefoot investor”.  This book has spent the last 52 weeks on the best seller charts. Last year he boldly proclaimed that e-books and bookshops were dead!  Last Sunday in the Herald Sun he said he was wrong!  He noted that e-books sales had slumped 20%, while traditional book sales increased!
