Beyond school

One of the absolute joys associated with teaching, is uncovering and learning of children's passions and interests, and further, following the exploits of students beyond the primary school.

It doesn’t seem all that long ago when Daniel Aplin, Ben Oborn and Bryce Purser spent their Saturday mornings on the Good Shepherd Primary School oval wearing the Good Saints jumper and giving their all for the team.  Fast forward to 2017 and they are still team mates, but now at North Adelaide.

On Saturday Daniel and Ben made their debut for the North Adelaide reserves while Bryce was playing his 3rd reserves game.  While it is a great achievement for these 3 lads, there is quite a large number of former Good Saints doing great things at various suburban and SANFL clubs.  And for the record, North Adelaide defeated Central Districts by 39 points!

If you know of any other past students whose accomplishments deserve to be highlighted, don't hesitate to let me know.

 Some things I enjoy …

I enjoy coming to school each day

I enjoy a weekend of camping

I enjoy a fishing trip with friends

I enjoy supporting Port Power (most of the time)

AND ….

I enjoy consuming fine wine and cheese, particularly in the winter months.  It’s a wonderful thing to live in one of the most magnificent wine regions on earth.  Our product is outstanding.  And lovers of beer are also spoilt these days with a plethora of boutique breweries breaking new ground.

I commend the Good Shepherd Wine and Cheese Extravaganza to you all.   Join me and many others  for an evening of fellowship, laughter, indulgence and fund raising, for the purpose of further transforming our outdoor learning and creative play spaces.

See you there.

Please help ... only one minute required

It is at this time of year that thorough planning and preparation commences in preparation for 2018.  The most critical piece of information that informs our planning and assists us to appropriately resource the school in support of student learning, is our total student numbers across each stage.

We appreciate that changes occur in families and we respect the freedom of choice parents make about schooling, particularly with regard to the point of transition to secondary schools other than Endeavour College.   A survey, emailed to all parents and caregivers on Friday last week, simply asks you to indicate your enrolment intentions, fully determined or not at this time, for 2018, to enable us to confidently plan for next year.

Thanks in advance for your support.
