Library News

The school library is a wonderful hub of learning and discovery where all students are welcome.

Other than offering books, computers and resources, the library is a safe space where students are encouraged to think, create and share information with their friends. Respect for other library users and the resources is something we value at our College.

Book Recommendation:

One of the most popular and student recommended books at this school is:

The One and Only Ivan

by Katherine Applegate (Find me in the Animal section).

Ivan is a gorilla who lives on display in a shopping centre. He meets Ruby, a baby elephant, and wishes better things for her lead to a vast improvement in their living arrangements. The story epitomizes the characteristics of friendship, courage and hope leading to positive change. The human and animal characters are memorable and uplifting.

We have Book two also!

Murder Most Unladylike

by Robin Stevens (Find me in the Mystery/Crime/Suspense/Thriller section)

Oh dear, there’s been a rather shocking murder at Deepdean school for girls.

Two girls Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong start a secret detective agency at their boarding school to solve a possible murder at their school.  Can their friendship and the school survive? A fun retro look at English life with a bit of a twist. See if you can solve the mystery too!

We have the whole series.

We look forward to seeing you in the library soon! Come and find the perfect book for you.
