BALLOT CLOSES 4.00 PM WEDNESDAY 10 MARCH 2021

Candidate: Eva Dean

Hi! My name is Eva Dean and I would love to represent the parent voice on the Doncaster Secondary College Council.

I have been a secondary school educator (music and drama) for 19 years throughout which time I have undertaken various leadership roles within the school community including year level coordinator, Arts/Music faculty leader, teaching and learning leader and whole staff professional learning and development implementation. These roles have equipped me with skills in budget maintenance, resource management, fundraising and events coordination, as well as participating in facilities upgrades. I like to use a big picture approach with students’ best interests at the core of all decisions.

I am a proud mum of four children; my eldest is currently in year 8 at DSC with the others soon to follow. I enjoy day trips with the family (particularly if they involve the sun and the surf!), catching up with friends or a quiet evening with a good book.

I am standing for election in the hope that I can make valuable contributions to this wonderful school and that as a member of the College Council I can have a positive impact on the continued success of DSC.

Candidate : Linda Masoni

Thought I'd like to try something new this year...run for DSC Council Elections! I'm Linda Masoni, & I'm keen to be involved in the decisions that affect my two sons and the rest of the students at Doncaster Secondary College.

I have a varied background...completed a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne Uni, worked overseas as a make-up artist, was a transport co-ordinator at a Customs & Forwarding company, and now I work as a Finance Officer for a multi-clinic Hand Therapy company.

Since having my sons, I have always enjoyed becoming a part of their school/sports communities; from kinder, where I was on the committee as the "Librarian"; primary school, where I assisted in fundraising & was a parent helper in the classroom; and have also fundraised for their local soccer club. Prior to COVID-19, I assisted in the DSC office as a parent helper in the photocopy room, where I enjoyed getting to know and help the teachers.

My wish is to try and make Secondary School as fun & interesting as it can be so that students can look back at their time at DSC with smiles on their faces.

Thanks for considering me as a candidate.
