'Kisses' The Musical

In 2021 we are thrilled to announce that our College Production is ‘Kisses’.

After having to pull the pin on last year’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, we are excited to get the rehearsal process started. We have finished the audition process and are set to start rehearsals this week. Over 50 talented students have signed up to be a part of the production this year, and will rehearse weekly from 3:20 – 5:30 each Monday afternoon.

Our staging of ‘Kisses’ will be only the third time this musical has seen the stage. Having previously won Schools on Stage, the story and music (written by the talented Mr Damien Mizzi), features well known characters as well as some interesting twists on beloved characters we think we know.

Throughout the rehearsal process students who make up the cast and the crew will meet, develop and perfect the roles ready to sell out our theatre for all three evening performances. This year we are fortunate to have two matinees for local primary school audiences and three evening performances, Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th August.

Our focus for the College Production is not only to put on an entertaining show for the audience, but also to teach our students the skills required to stage a show in a professional manner. These skills include actor and audience etiquette, development of acting skills, commitment, leadership opportunities and a host of technical skills such as lighting, sound, backstage crew and make up design.

Please encourage students to get involved and direct them to the Production Team if they have any questions at all. The Production Team is made up of Musical Director/Vocal Director – Kat Mizzi, Director/Choreographer – Linda McGloin and Producer – Susan Bergman.

We look forward to your support throughout the production process, whether it be as a member of the audience, a parent helper backstage, through fundraising or assisting in the catering of our ‘Big Weekend’ (May 15 & 16).
