E-Learning

e-Learning at Cranbourne Secondary College

To help students master the technological needs of their learning at Cranbourne Secondary College, we have created a series of helpful instructional videos.

To help students use email in an effective and meaningful way, use this video link: https://youtu.be/pd6eM8RdZFE

There are two different methods for printing in our school. For students in Years 7 to 9 (for whom we supply computers), use the technique outlined in this great video produced with the assistance of Willow Moore and Kaden Timmins from 7E: https://youtu.be/EWe7_mFBXZU

For students in Years 10 to 12 (where students bring their own device), use this technique: https://youtu.be/2IZMtCb69b8

And, in order to help students organise and save their work, we have also created another instructional video, produced with the assistance of McKenzie Dando and Sanjana Garaga from 9A.

Community Liaison and e-Learning

Our students have created a video to help parents access information about their children.

It can be accessed from this link: Parent Guide for Accessing Compass at Cranbourne Secondary College https://youtu.be/hDOzkiz2Z1Q

This video demonstrates how to use Compass, learn about students’ progress and manage issues like attendance and absences.

The video was initiated by Annette Evans after working with the Afghan Mothers and seeing the difficulty they were having in accessing Compass, and our brilliant Multi-Pride students, who developed a script and then experimented with different formats to see which one would be user friendly.

Editor and technological genius behind the video was Year 11 student Nirvair Singh-Toor with George Massouris providing video support.

Script writers were Anahita Hakimi and Nooria Salemi. Starring performers and creative directors of film were Anahita Hakimi, Nargis Shafii, Noor Zahra Muntaziri, Behishta Muhammad Ali and Nooria Salemi.

In our next newsletter, we will also publish versions of the video in our main languages of Dari, Farsi, Samoan, Tagalog and Hazaragi.

VCAA Multicultural Unit was contacted and has offered support for the future development to be eventually offered in other schools.
