Student Feedback for School Improvement

It is a really important part of what we do at Staughton to really know our students as learners and people. It is important that their voice is heard and that they feel agency over their learning. One of the ways that we do this is via our ‘Weekly Walks’. Once a week groups of senior leaders within the school visit all classes that are happening at a particular time. In each class we speak to 2-4 students and ask them questions about how they are experiencing our teaching approach. We use this to directly feedback to teacher professional learning in the following weeks. We believe it a terrific way of getting a snapshot of student voice every week. It is a key piece of evidence that we use to inform changes and improvements in our approach. I would like to sincerely thank all students who thoughtfully provide feedback in this process.

Student School Council Representative

Another way in which students exercise their voice within the school is as student members of our School Council. I would like to congratulate Charlotte Tate on being appointed to the recently advertised position. Student members of school council and other leaders who attend council are regularly the highlight of our meetings, providing valuable and authentic views on issues across the life of the school.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
