The Rest of the School

Behind the Curtains

HOT DOG DAY

On Thursday June 15th, the students and staff of Bursaria organised and ran a Hot Dog Day for the whole school. This involved distributing forms to homes, collecting money, creating a shopping list, shopping for ingredients, cooking and preparing the menu items as well as distributing the orders to staff and students around the school.

At EHSS, we take great pride in preparing our secondary students for life after school, and developing their life skills in order to develop their confidence and abilities.

COMMUNITY WORKING BEE

Saturday June 17th saw EHSS staff, parents, carers and community volunteers participate in our Term 2 working bee. Examples of jobs that were completed on the day were gardening upkeep and maintenance, removal of hard rubbish, play area tidy up and clearing debris from gutters.

Events like this are a great way for the community to be involved and have first hand experience in the day to day management and upkeep of the school.

The team at EHSS would like to thank all staff, parents, carers and community volunteers who came out and assisted on the day.

OPEN MORNING

On Tuesday June 20th, we opened our doors to prospective new enrolments and their families for an Open Morning. Attendees had the opportunity to talk to members of the leadership team, observe certain classes and go on a tour of the grounds.

The team at EHSS love opening our doors to the community and we hope that our guests valued the experience.

WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

After the feedback from staff at the end of our term 1 assembly, this term each learning space have held their own assembly on a weekly or fortnightly basis in order to get the students accustomed to transitioning, being in a large group, sitting down and listening to a presenter. This allowed for this term's assembly to be a much smoother operation for the majority of our students.

Friday June 23rd saw EHSS hold our second whole school assembly to commemorate the end of Term 2. EHSS would like to congratulate the following students on receiving the Principal's Award this term;
