Grade 3

In Reading this week the Grade 3 students have been exploring summarising fiction texts using the 'Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then' tool to assist them in organising their thinking. Students have used this tool to explore the characters and problems within a story. 

In Writing, students have spent their time generating ideas in their Writer's Notebook and beginning to plan a narrative story for their final writing cycle for the term. Students have linked their knowledge from Reading and used the  'Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then' tool to plan their narratives. We can't wait to read their wonderful stories! 

During Maths the Grade 3s have been exploring and building their understandings of place value as well as continuing to focus on their multiplication goals. We encourage students to continue practising these at home with their families. 

NAPLAN

We would like to take a moment to mention how proud we are of the Grade 3 students after completing their first NAPLAN assessments over the last fortnight. We are so proud of their amazing growth mindset, persistence and willingness to have a go!
