Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams

Next Wednesday is National Simultaneous Reading Time.

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, family daycares, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops, and many other places around the country. Now in its 23rd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes.

Last year there were over 2 186347 participants joining in from over 59 038 locations. We are excited to join in this year's celebrations.

In preparation for the event all children have listened to the story and discussed the moral of the story.

Anzac Theme.

Across all stages, we have been continuing our Anzac Theme and learning all about the heroes both People and animals. Children have loved listening to our wonderful selection of books. A few of the favoutites have been The Last Anzac, Simspon and his Donkey and Midnight.

Please encourage all children to return and borrow each week.

Next week only! Stage 2 and 3 will have library day on Tuesday.

Lunchtimes in the Library

Children are continuting to play with the Rubic Cubes, colouring and building things and of course reading. Sometimes we are enjoying all of this outside, depending on the weather.
