A message and update from Nathan Gage
What a huge term it has been. Everyone has done such an amazing job of kicking the year off this year very successfully. Without exception, it’s been a full term, with NAPLAN assessments conducted for the first time in March and so many 'NEW' things happening right across the school. New students, new staff, new processes, new routines, new approaches... the list goes on. Of course, all of this new is extremely positive and we know that it will yield some tremendous success across the school. However, it can be hard work too. Our holidays have come just in time. We trust that everyone will seize the opportunity to rest, reset and recover ahead of an exciting term two.
Baby News!
It is with much excitement and gratitude that I get to announce that Ashlee Naylor will be expecting a new addition to her family later this year. Please join me in congratulating Ashlee in this very exciting news.
Playground update
We are still working behind the scenes to get our playground. The processes that sit throughout the approval chain at the Department do take time and we are awaiting confirmation to move to the next stage of this project. Thank you for your patience. Rest assured, we are doing our very best to get this project off the ground as soon as possible.
Uniform shop opportunity EOI
Our second hand uniform store is a very special feature of our school that has been run superbly by our wonderful parent volunteer, Bishan, for a number of years. Bishan has been doing an amazing job, but it is now time for her to pass on the torch. This is a call out to any parent, or parents, who may like to support us through the second hand uniform store - please contact the office for more information.
Lunch Order System Term Two
Next term Aberfeldie will be trailling a lunch order system that will occur weekly. This means that parents/carers will be able to order food online for thier children. Please see below for our menu that will be coming our way. More information to come our via Compass.
World Autism Understanding Day 2nd April 2023
World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognised day annually on April 2, encouraging everyone to take measures to raise awareness about autistic individuals throughout the world. This year, Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) asked the Autistic community what they would like people to know if they find out that a person is Autistic. The most important message is that no two Autistic people are the same and that autism may not be what you think it is. It’s not a one-size-fits all approach and there is so much misunderstanding out in the public. Fitting in can be exhausting. The environment and people’s attitudes can often be more of a barrier for people on the autism spectrum. Check out the below attachments learn a little more about autism.
