Dear Parents,

Our welcome disco was a tremendous success. The students had a great time dancing and socializing with their friends, and it was wonderful to see so many parents attend and support the event. It was a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the start of the new academic year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who attended the welcome disco. Your presence and support made the event even more special, and we truly appreciate your involvement in our school community.

Again, thank you to the Friends of Francis committee and all the parent helpers who assisted in making the night a wonderful event. The money raised from this event and other events will go towards creating an outdoor learning space.

Open Days

I am pleased to report that our open days this week for prospective parents were a resounding success. The feedback we received from the families was overwhelmingly positive, and many of them expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome they received and the helpful information they were provided.

Our Year Six students did an excellent job of representing our school and their enthusiasm and knowledge of the school was impressive. They demonstrated leadership and responsibility in taking on this important task, and their efforts helped to make the new families feel at home and comfortable in our school community.

I am proud of our Year Six students for their hard work and dedication and believe that this experience will serve them well as they prepare to transition to secondary school. 

Thank you to the staff who took the time to answer questions and helped to make these tours a success, and to showcase our school.

Friends of Francis Meeting

Next week, on Tuesday 14th March 2023, our first Friends of Francis meeting for 2023. At this meeting, I will present our school’s Annual Improvement Plan and the Friends of Francis committee will discuss the committee's role and responsibility and how you can assist. I look forward to seeing you at our meeting next week.

Staff News

Miss Isabella Ingegneri

Congratulations to Miss Isabella Ingegneri, who will marry Mr Luigi Barbera this weekend. I wish Isabella and Luigi a lifetime of love and happiness. Isabella’s wedding will be taking place at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Haberfield, at 1.30 pm on Saturday, 11th March 2023.

Isabella will be away from the 9th March and will return on Monday 20th March as Mrs Barbera.

Mrs Lisa Placanica

I regret to inform you that Mrs Lisa Placanica will be resigning from her position, with her last day being the 27th March 2023.  She has made this decision for personal reasons.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa for her contributions to our school, she will be greatly missed in the office and I wish her all the best.

I look forward to chatting with you on the playground.
