Graduation

Celebrations

Senior School Leader

In the second week of this term, we celebrated the Graduating class of 2022 with three special events.

Students and families enjoyed an evening Graduation Event honouring the work of each Year 12 in their journey to this milestone. This occasion was hosted in the Moonee Valley Racecourse Celebrity Room, and our Graduates looked amazing as they crossed the stage in front of their families to receive certificates to mark their time at BSC along with awards for their achievements this year. It was a pleasure to be able to talk to so many families face to face after countless emails and phone calls over the year, and I know that teachers valued being able to celebrate their students in this way.

The school community were also able to celebrate our Year 12 class at a whole-school assembly and at the Dress-up Day celebrations where students from Years 7 to11 could cheer and applaud their siblings, cousins and friends as they marked the occasion. On this day, the school grounds were decorated in memes made by the Year 12 students, showcasing the relationships developed between Year 12 students and their classroom teachers - and many laughs were shared!

I am very proud of the individual achievements of these students as well as what their collective achievements over this year. Students have collaborated with each other, with their teachers and with the support of their family and personal networks to achieve their best outcomes.

As our Graduates of 2022 start to look forward to work, travel and higher education opportunities, I hope that they can take some of these experiences with them and remember fondly the fun that was had at all the Graduation celebration events this year!
