Grade Six

All the Grade sixers are so excited for their last term of Grade 6! There are so many activities to come, including graduation at the end of the school year.

A definite highlight is interschool sports which we do each Friday morning. Some sports include volleystars, softball, rounders, cricket and basketball. It helps with strengthening teamwork and the skills used to play the sports. We get to play against many different schools which is always fun.

In English, we have begun writing narratives. We learnt about the different types of narratives, as well as reading some books and had class discussions about them. Another highlight of writing is beginning or continuing our independent writing pieces.

In Maths, we have been revising our mental computation skills with decimals, data collection, graphing and surveying. We are creating ice cream flavours and surveying students from all  year levels. After we completed the surveys we created graphs showing and comparing what different year groups choose as their favourite ice cream flavour. We are very excited for one group from each grade to be able to make and sell their ice cream invention to their Grade 6 peers.

Overall it has been a fantastic start to our last term at Oatlands and we are so excited for the rest of our time here.
