Living with Strength and Kindliness
Sandhurst World Youth Day 2022
Our Lady, Mother of God Church, Wangaratta South
1pm – 9pm, Saturday 19th November
“Mary arose and went with haste”
Luke 1:39
Bishop Shane is inviting all young people aged 15-35 from across the Diocese to gather in Wangaratta on Saturday November 19 for the annual Diocesan World Youth Day celebration.
Drawing on the global WYD theme, “Mary arose and went with haste” Luke 1:39, the Sandhurst celebration will explore what it means when Pope Francis asks young people to be “protagonists of change” (Christus Vivit, n174).
With music, talks, conversations and opportunities to meet other young people from across the Diocese, the Sandhurst World Youth Day 2022 celebration is shaping up to be an event not to be missed. We will, of course, also be celebrating the Vigil Mass for the Feast of Christ the King with Bishop Shane.
We once again welcome Gen Bryant and her band to join us for the day and Sandhurst young people are also invited to be involved in the event. There are opportunities to speak, share ideas, perform music or share other artistic gifts, take photos, or be involved in ways we haven’t even thought of yet.
To find out more about how to be involved, email youth@sandhurst.catholic.org.au.
The day will also feature the official launch of registrations for the Young Adults (18-35) Pilgrimage to WYD’23 in Lisbon, Portugal.
More information about what to expect, as well as how to get involved, will be available on the Sandhurst Youth Instagram and Facebook pages. Make sure you follow us to stay up to date.
Registrations will open Friday 13 October.
