Library News

Welcome to Term 4 - a busy time as we head towards exams and completing the school year. We hope you had time to read during the September holidays and have already begun searching for the books which will enhance your Christmas break.

If you need any help to find the right book or would like to suggest a purchase, please ask one of the library team members.

Library Web App

Have you looked at our Web App lately?

Being able to find the right information in a timely fashion is a skill every student needs.

Our teacher-librarian, Mr Cohn, has added numerous authoritative websites to our catalogue front page, which will be an invaluable resource when researching for assignments. Features include the ‘search tools’ which provide an easy explanation of the process of searching for information - including using the library catalogue and internet search engines. Along with this, there are also a range of links to eBooks and other important information resources.

Our library staff are also available to help staff and students with their reading and research needs.

Our Web app is not all serious research sites, as students will also find book reviews, film clips of authors talking about their books, competitions, Word of the Day, and other fun news and activities.

More features are being added all the time, and as it says on the page, we are happy for students and staff to provide feedback on how we can make the site even better.

Be sure to have the library Web app bookmarked on your laptop so you can access it at any time for reading, homework and research help.

Jokes of the week:

Why does an echidna use its snout as a bookmark?
So it nose where it stopped reading!

What dinosaur knows a lot of synonyms?
A thesaurus!
