Term 4 - ‘Journeys’
This term, students are exploring RE & Inquiry topics around the theme ‘Journeys’. This theme incorporates stories from the Bible whilst looking at the culture and setting of the story, comparing it with our world today. Students are also looking at Geography and our connection to places. Later this term, we will enter the season of Advent and explore the story of the Nativity and the birth of Jesus. Another opportunity to look at a very important journey in the history of our faith!
Sacrament of Confirmation
We wish our Grade 6 students all the best as they finalise preparations to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next Tuesday. Please keep these students in your prayers at this special time.

Confirmation Reflection Day
On Wednesday 5 October our Grade 6 students participated in a Confirmation Reflection Day. The students and teachers went to Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and St Patrick’s Cathedral for a day of prayer and reflection to further prepare to receive Confirmation.
Middle Level Class Participation in Mass
This term, each Grade 3/4 class will have the opportunity to participate in a Mass and lead the readings and prayer on this day. The dates are as follows:
After these classes participate in Mass, there is an opportunity for the students and families to share in a morning tea in the Church meeting room. We ask each family to bring a small plate of food to share. We congratulate 3/4JD who led Mass this week and did a beautiful job.
Junior Level Class Prayer Services
Throughout this term, each Grade 1/2 class will have the opportunity to participate in a class prayer service in the classrooms. The students will work with the teachers in the lead up to their prayer service to practice prayers, songs and reflect on the theme 'Belonging to God's People'.
These prayer services are a wonderful opportunity for our families to come and share in and experience at OLA. All families are welcome.
Parents are invited to bring a small plate of food to share in a morning tea afterwards.
