Grade 2 Integrated Studies

Last week during Integrated Studies lessons, the Grade 2 students were learning to visualise, generate, and communicate design ideas through describing, drawing and modelling. With teacher support, they planned and designed a model of an item of food. 

During the design process, they were encouraged to consider the properties of materials and think creatively to match or recreate the textures and colours of their favourite foods.

Once they had planned their ideas, they then used various craft supplies and techniques to build their models. 

During the building process, they were encouraged to use materials, components, tools, equipment and techniques to produce designed solutions safely.
