Showcase

Showcase is one of the special traditions of EHPS that all students prepare for throughout the year. We are grateful to be able to reintroduce Showcase to our school community after a two year break, and celebrated with a Junior Showcase on Friday 14 October in the School Hall and Showcase on Friday 21 October at Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University.

Junior Showcase

Prep and Year 1 students performed at our Junior Showcase on Friday 14 October in our School Hall.

Showcase

Showcase was conducted in its traditional evening time slot on Friday 21 October at Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University, with performances from Years 2 to 6 students, and Year 1 students Caleb B and Travis M. There were:

  • Instrumental items from the Combined Strings, Years 4 to 6 Marimba Ensembles, Guitar Ensemble, Combined Bands, Percussion Ensemble, and Small String Ensemble.
  • Choir items from the Chorale, Year 2 Choir, Year 3/4 Choir, Chamber Choir, with all students finishing the evening with a performance of the Together Sing song 'Where We Begin' and the school song, Essex Heights Rock.

We were delighted to welcome special guests Matt Fregon MP (State Member for Mount Waverley), Connie Tzelepis (Rotary Club of Wheelers Hill, who have donated $5,000 to our school through the Gerard Marcus Foundation), and past teacher Tanya Dolence. Thank you for your support of our school community.

Celina W:
"Showcase was an incredible and nerve-wracking experience for me. After lots of preparation and rehearsals, every performance I did was enjoyable and fun. Overall, my favourite event was Chamber Choir since the sound came out really well."

Aaryan P:
"There were two Showcases this year, both of which were very exciting as we haven’t experienced one since 2019. It was extra special as well as I got involved in designing the Showcase poster and helping with organising the Showcase as well.  I was a bit nervous as I had to speak in front of so many people.  At the same time, I just wanted to get on the stage and perform.  It was great to be with my friends and other captains and perform for our families.  I did feel a bit sad though that this would be the last Showcase that I perform in at Essex Heights.  So I am really happy for the experience."

Sophia M:
"On Friday 21st October, our Essex Heights Primary School community gathered at Robert Blackwood Hall for Showcase 2022. It was so great to once again be able to enjoy this wonderful experience after missing out for the last two years. Everyone worked so hard to put together a fantastic show and all the performances were simply amazing."

Daniel L:
"Showcase was a very fun event as students were able to watch others perform. My highlight was accompanying the 1/2 Choir by playing the piano. Afterall Showcase was very exciting and fun to watch and perform."
