Junior School Report

Welcome back to Term 3.  We hope our students are well rested and prepared for another busy term. All students should have received their reports by now Students can access reports via Compass and parents can use their Portals to see the reports.  If you are having difficulty with this please contact the school. If you have any concerns about your child’s report, please contact the relevant coordinator to discuss.

Year 7 students will attend an excursion into St Albans with their class this term and Year 8 will attend the Organ Pipes National Park for IS.

Students from the Sub School are performing in the School Production “Addams Family” – Year 7 students will have the opportunity of a taster of the Performance in July. We are pleased to see so many keen junior performers with various talents participating in this big production.

Some of our students have been participating in DOXA Leadership Program which has now finished for the year. Thank you to Mr Moore and Ms Dickinson for assisting with in Program.

“Throughout Doxa, I learnt a lot of things but I’d like to say what a heart-warming experience it was. I made a lot of wonderful new friends from different schools. DOXA is a Program for young people who have overcome adversity. I attended camps. We wrote letter to our future selves as a self- improvement activity. When I reopened the letter, it boosted my self -esteem and made me realise how much I had grown over the year. The Doxa program provided workshops that we attended and we spoke about things such as gender rights and equality. I learnt a remarkable amount of things I did not know before. We discovered what a good education system and government we have in Australia as part of Global Citizenship.” - DOXA Review – Fartun Mohamed 8G

Doxa Report 8.2

This year, we had the privilege of being a part of the Doxa 8.2 group. The students involved in this program included Tommy Tang, Brendon Dang, Fartun Mohamed, Fasita Belachew, Akok Madol, Huda Egeh, Himanot Abebeyiletu and Sui Hlawn Ceu. For those who are unaware of what the DOXA program is about, it is a leadership scholarship where we team up with different schools and the DOXA organisation to help raise young leaders. In this program there are 4 workshops and a camp. During the camps and the workshops, we had the opportunity to meet with many inspirational people and learn about their stories and background. The benefits that we personally gained from this experience include, stepping out of our comfort zone, learning to communicate with people, making new friends, learning to empathize and sympathize with others, etc… We are very honoured to have been a part of this amazing program and we highly encourage others to join.
