WAR, Homework Club & Junior Tutoring

Here at Staughton College, we continually strive to support our students with their learning progress. A couple of the ways in which we do this is through the Homework Club and WAR programs.

Homework Club

Students in Years 7-9

Homework Club: Held in the library from Monday to Thursday, from 3:15 until 4:00 pm. These sessions aim to provide a quiet and well-resourced learning space for students to catch up on work, homework, study, and their exam preparation.

Maths an English Tutoring

Students in Years 7-10

Hosted in the library every Wednesday afternoon, from 3:15 until 4:00 pm. These sessions are an opportunity for students to seek additional support or acceleration in their English and mathematics studies.

WAR (Work and Attendance Redemption)

Students in Years 10-12

Work and Attendance Redemption (WAR): Runs from 3:20 until 4:30 pm on Mondays to Thursdays in D12. These sessions provide a study and work environment for our senior students who need to catch up on work or attendance. WAR is supervised by one of our Staughton teachers who can assist with any work, and maintain a productive environment.

Homework Club & WAR contribute to the attendance of the individual student to ensure the 90% minimum is maintained.

Attendance rolls are taken at each of these programs, and students are credited with a session they have missed during the semester. At Staughton, we have an attendance policy of 90% in order for students to pass. As such, these programs can support students in boosting their attendance in order to receive a ‘demonstrated’ in each of their study areas.

Please contact Ms. Basile for Homework Club and Junior Tutoring questions or Ms. Baker for any WAR questions.
