Celebrating Student Success- Achievements in the Community

A big congratulations to Daniel who is yet another one of our students who succeeded in gaining a learners permit. It was an especially good holiday for Daniel as he got his learners and then flew to Sydney to witness a victory for everyone’s favourite team. It is really great to see both Daniel and the Blues kicking some goals during this holiday period. Well done !

Congratulations to Jordan  who represented Victoria in the All Inclusion Carnival last week in Sydney. The team played extremely well and had the pleasure of playing in the grand final. They lost by a few points but managed to enjoy the interstate experience and take away with them many unforgettable memories and friends. Well done, the Concord community is very proud of Jordy!

Congratulations to Brayden who is out there engaging in the community with the support of his NDIS support worker in basketball, cooking activities and footy. Well done on making the local newspaper. What a star!

If you have any community celebrations you would like to share, please send them through to Karen on jordan.karen.k@edumail.vic.gov.au

Relationships and Sexuality Education Program

Thank you to all families who attended the information session regarding the Social Competencies program at Concord School. This program is in line with Victoria requirements for all government schools.

The goal of sexuality education in Victorian schools is to build on knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable students to make responsible and safe choices. School-based sexuality education is one of the core learning and teaching responsibilities a school undertakes to equip its students for a healthy and fulfilling adult life.  At Concord School our Relationship and Sexuality program is taught to students as part of our comprehensive Social Competencies Program. This program focuses on respect for others and oneself, diversity, personal rights and responsibilities, relationships and friendships, love, safer sex, abstinence, effective communication, decision-making and risk behaviours.

If you would like further information on the program you can access the power point presentation on Compass in School Documentation or contact Nina Kahle or Jennie Thompson at the Bundoora Campus.
