VCAL 1 Road Trauma Awareness

On Tuesday, students from VCAL 1 had senior constable Allan Edwards from the Melton Police Department speak to them about his experiences with road trauma, in line with their major assignment this year.

Students are currently focusing on creating an advertisement that aims to educate other young people on the dangers of unsafe driving.

Allen’s presentation informed us all from the perspective of a trauma worker. His locality meant that he was able to present some eye opening stories of local fatalities due to unsafe vehicles and driving.

He used some personal anecdotes as well as some real life images from his time as an officer to really send the message home to students.

This information will be transferred to students as they begin to work out the best way that they can teach others about this important and relevant issue.
