Senior Badminton

On the last day of term 2, the senior boys and girls badminton teams went out for their last ever competition, as for most of them, this is their last year of school.

Senior girls were: Elise O’Dell, Shelley Web, Hayley Duncan and Sherphylle Clapano, and senior boys were: Mackenzie Mordaunt, Karl Remo, Brian Kynaston and Finn Mcvie.

Elise, Shelley, Hayley, Mackenzie, Karl and Finn have been representing the school in badminton for 3 years.

They gave it their all, but unfortunately weren’t good enough to get through to the next round. However, they were enthusiastic throughout the whole day and regardless of the result, enjoyed themselves and made sure to cheer each other on when they weren’t playing.

I am proud to have been their coach for three years, and to bring badminton to Staughton College. I have enjoyed the relationships I have formed with these students and hope they continue to play badminton in the future.

Thank you to Arlene Birch who has also coached them with me for the last 2 years and Rana Vandana who came on board to assist in coaching this year.
